Data Credits
Blindside Alpha is built on a stack of public NFL data and open-source research projects. This page collects the formal attribution required by the licenses of each source. Surface-level UI deliberately avoids vendor branding so the product reads as a single, opinionated tool.
Open-source data sources
- nflverse — play-by-play, participation, snap counts, schedules, roster history, and contract aggregates. Licensed under CC-BY-SA 4.0. github.com/nflverse/nflverse-data
- nflfastR — the play-by-play cleaning pipeline that underpins nflverse PBP. Licensed under MIT. nflfastr.com
- FTN Charting — manual play charting used for advanced situational tags. Re-distributed via nflverse under CC-BY-SA 4.0.
- NFL Next Gen Stats — public weekly aggregates surfaced via nflverse re-release.
- Pro-Football-Reference — team standings and historical records, used for hand-curated season summaries. Single-source attribution; no large-scale scrape.
- OverTheCap + Spotrac — public contract aggregates re-distributed via nflverse under CC-BY-SA 4.0.
- Sleeper — fantasy league connection API (free public tier).
